A 4,460-acre Army Corps reservoir on Stony Creek in the Sacramento Valley foothills near Orland, ringed by oak grassland and the dark volcanic buttes it is named for. Two campgrounds, boat ramps and warm-water fishing, with a state advisory on eating the fish because of mercury.
