A 158,147-acre Sierra Nevada Crest expanse spanning two national forests, with 12 peaks over 10,000 feet, granite slopes, meadows, and the headwaters of the Carson, Stanislaus, and Mokelumne Rivers. About 200 miles of trails, including 26 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, draw light to moderate use.
