The southernmost national forest in California, 460,000 acres of chaparral canyon and scattered oak and conifer across San Diego, Riverside and Orange counties. Palomar and Laguna mountains carry its campgrounds and observatories, alongside four wilderness areas including Agua Tibia and San Mateo Canyon.
