The California side of a forest that is mostly Nevada: the Bridgeport and Carson ranger districts along the eastern wall of the Sierra. Twin Lakes, Robinson Creek, Green Creek, Virginia Creek and Hope Valley sit here, reached from US-395 and Highway 88, with granite peaks, aspen canyons and trout streams running up to the Yosemite and Hoover Wilderness boundaries.
