Just over a million acres where the Sierra Nevada, the Cascades and the Great Basin meet, wrapped around Lassen Peak. The Caribou, Ishi and Thousand Lakes wildernesses lie within it, with the Subway Cave lava tube, the Pacific Crest Trail and the 25-mile Bizz Johnson rail-trail.
