Follows the Nobles Emigrant Trail past Cinder Cone and the black basalt Fantastic Lava Beds, crosses open benches to wooded Rainbow Lake, then drops to Snag Lake, a pool ringed with silvered dead tree snags, linking with the Pacific Crest Trail.
