A 32,186-acre expanse of the San Jacinto Mountains rising from 6,000 to 10,000 feet, split around a state park, ranging from desert canyons to alpine peaks. Hikers use 48 miles of trail, including 28 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, while climbers tackle Tahquitz and Suicide Rock.
