A 70,206-acre swath of the Warner Mountains in far northeastern California, spanning 18 by 8 miles from 4,760 feet in Surprise Valley to 9,892-foot Eagle Peak. Eight trailheads access 79 miles of lightly used trails, including the 22.5-mile Summit Trail.
